Nature Fresh is a transparent film suitable for both manual and automatic food packaging and is also compostable according to European standards (EN 13432) in home gardens and industrial facilities. The resulting compost can be used for crop production.

Jury statement

With "Nature Fresh," Gruppo Fabbri offers food producers, retailers, and buyers a compelling alternative to conventional stretch film. The packaging machinery specialist, which also traditionally produces its own film, introduced "Nature Fresh" in 2020. Its product is virtually indistinguishable from conventional packaging films in terms of transparency, tightness, and handling, yet offers two key quality advantages: After use, "Nature Fresh" can be metabolized by microorganisms in domestic or industrial composting facilities in accordance with current EU standards. Furthermore, the film boasts improved breathability, which has a positive effect on the shelf life of packaged food. And the quality of the resulting compost benefits consumers and the environment. With this product, Gruppo Fabbri Vignola has achieved something that many competitors have previously attempted without resounding success. The jury honored this breakthrough, which has the potential to transform the world of mass plastics, with first prize.
