Innovation: Paper-Cloud



Jury Statement: Paper Cloud represents an alternative to EPS (expandable polystyrene). The Swiss company Model has entered its Paper Clouds into the race for the Biopolymer Innovation Award. Paper Cloud represents an alternative to EPS (expandable polystyrene). The material consists primarily of expandable starch and paper fibers and can be recycled and thus reused at the end of its useful life. This packaging material is very lightweight yet remarkably strong. It is a drop-in solution that can be manufactured using less energy than the fossil-based alternative. A very good idea, the jurors agreed.
